Neverending Sabbath

12/21/2016

Sabbath

is the time

set aside

for not:

for not

hiding

in busyness;

for not

clucking

I me mine.

It’s also

the time of

unadorned presencing

on occasion

as action,

on occasion

as stillness,

(the two

not apart;

just for a time

one aspect

or the other

come to the fore),

spacious

Sabbath

vast

vast

without

end

even as you work

even as you make

even as

you live everyday

the ordinary

of conflict

and obstacle –

now and forever

shot through

and through

with the sacred.
