Many Perspectives, One

02/13/2016

Two massive black holes, each many times the mass of the sun, circled one another at half the speed of light, only to collapse one into the other to form a black hole 65 times the mass of the sun. The cataclysmic event both slowed and sped time and bent space, also producing a shattering boom that traveled over the course of 1.2 billion years to reach us here on Earth, as a chirp heard by ultra-sensitive machines

today

as I watch my son

upon the ballet stage

dance his heart,

my heart dancing.
